Before we can respond to depression in Sandtray therapy, we have to learn to see it.
Depression rarely announces itself loudly in the tray.
It often whispers.
And here’s what’s IMPORTANT ~
Not every empty tray is “depression”.
Not every dark symbol equals pathology.
Our job is to observe before interpreting
Instead of:
“What does this mean?”
Try:
“I notice there’s a lot of space here.”
“It feels very still.”
“I’m curious what this part is holding.”

Depression is often a collapse of energy.
Sandtray gives it form.
And when it has form, it can finally be witnessed.
