Welcome to Part 2 of our Mini Series!
If you missed last month's topic on Sandtray Therapy x Anxiety, no fear! You can locate the training video & resources in last month's toolkit tab!
This month inside SSI, we’re leaning into a topic that many of us hold weekly - sometimes daily - in our therapy rooms:
Sandtray Therapy x Depression
Depression doesn’t always look like tears in the tray.
Sometimes it looks like:
- An empty landscape.
- A figure turned away.
- Miniatures buried.
- Perfect symmetry.
- A tray with no movement at all.
Depression in Sandtray often presents as stillness…
Silence. Collapse. Disconnection.
And our role isn’t to fix it.
It’s to sit with it.
To witness it.
To hold steady when the tray feels heavy.
So let’s get started!
You can watch my video below!
And here’s an insightful article on a case analysis of Sandtray Therapy and its benefits to working with adolescents with depressive symptoms - > Single-Case Analysis Article
I’m so glad you’re here for this one. Stay tuned, more goodies to come!
Until next week,
Amy & the SSI Team
