It's new toolkit content timeeeee!!
This week we’re zooming in on how anxiety presents itself in the Sandtray through symbols, placement, themes, and miniature choices!
Anxiety almost never announces itself directly.
Instead, it often shows up as:
- Hyper-control or rigidity
- Barriers, fences, or enclosed figures
- Repetitive or frozen scenes
- Crowding or lack of space
.

Check out the tools we added for you this week:
1.) Must-Have Miniatures Guide: Anxiety Edition*
2.) 'Creative Ways to Manage Anxiety: Tools Beyond Traditional Methods' by Wen Chang-Lit
3.) ‘Essential Art Therapy Exercises: Effective Techniques to Manage Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD' by Leah Guzman
As you work with these materials, consider: What might this client’s anxiety be trying to protect?
The tray often answers before the client can.
Until next week,
Amy & the SSI Team
