Happy February
Starting TODAY, we’re kicking off this fresh new month with the first topic to my new mini series; ‘Utilizing Sandtray Therapy for Different Diagnoses!
We will focus on a specific diagnosis each month:
February = Anxiety
March = Depression
April = ADHD
Anxiety often lives beyond language, felt in the body and carried quietly beneath the surface.
Sandtray allows clients to externalize what feels overwhelming, organize internal chaos, and create distance from symptoms in a way that feels safer and more regulated.
We couldn’t be more excited to explore how the tray offers anxious clients a softer, more accessible entry point into their internal world.
Check out Amy’s 30 minute training video below on Sandtray Therapy & Anxiety, along with four separate articles, each defining the four common anxiety disorders talked about in the video!
Optional Reflection: We also encourage you to watch the Disney movie, Inside Out 2, sometime this week if you can! The portrayal of anxiety in the movie is such a great insight into how internal systems try (and sometimes fail) to protect us.

We invite you to watch it as a reflective time for yourself (or your family for a fun movie night?!), noticing how anxiety is portrayed, how regulation emerges, and what parallels show up in your clinical work.
As you explore these resources in your own time, notice where anxiety shows up for you and how often it’s asking for support, not correction.
Until next week,
Amy & the SSI Team
