Now that you’ve had space to build understanding around ADHD, we’re shifting into application: how this shows up in your Sandtray work and what to do with it.
This week’s resource is designed to give you clear, adaptable strategies you can begin using immediately.
New Resource:
Sandtray Strategies for ADHD Clients
This guide offers practical ways to:
- Support regulation without forcing it
- Work with attention patterns rather than against them
- Introduce structure in flexible, client-centered ways
Use one of these prompts to gently support engagement and exploration:
- “Start with the piece that grabs your attention first.”
- “Show me what your energy feels like today.”
- “You don’t have to finish, just build what feels important.”
We have a mini challenge for you this week if you’re up for one:
Pick 1 strategy from the handout and intentionally use it in at least one session.
Afterward, reflect:
- What shifted in the client’s engagement?
- What felt easier or harder than expected?
- What did you notice about your own responses?
The goal isn’t perfection…it’s observation and adjustment.
Next week, we’ll round out the month with additional directives and pattern-recognition tools to deepen your clinical work.
Until next week,
Amy & SSI Team
