April 2025 Week 2

Let's do a quick review over the 7 skills we discussed in last week's Zoom training:

 7 Essential Sandtray Skills for Working with Children =

 1.) Minis - Having the right miniatures

2.) Sand - Limited sand choices

3.) Track, reflect, + summarize

4.) Remember YOUR purpose

5.) Don't overthink it

6.) Documentation - You won’t document everything, in fact you may only document a small portion of the actual session

7.) Have fun and let yourself be!

As we look over this list, notice how different tools and resources come into play...but most importantly, notice that the greatest factor in these skills lies with YOU!

The key to working with children in the sandtray truly is simplicity!

Kids may seem small, but they hold so much - they're human beings just like us and need guidance just like we all do when it comes to processing, expressing our feelings + experiences, and healing.
